Hours: Monday-Thursday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM | Friday-Saturday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM | Sunday, 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Bringing an award-winning reputation to the neighbourhood, Wing Snob is known for earning the title of best wings in Metro Detroit.

What really sets them apart is the huge selection of global house rubs. They let you customise your heat level with flavours like Scotch bonnet Jamaican blends.

One customer we spoke with recently ordered the sweet Carolina mustard BBQ wings for a game night and said the flavour lived up to the hype.

You can even upgrade your meal with custom loaded speciality fries for something more filling. Plant-based eaters aren’t left out either, thanks to the dedicated cauliflower wing option.

However, keep in mind that they don’t open until 11 a.m. daily. So early-morning orders and mid-morning office catering aren’t an option.

Pros

  • Massive variety of global sauces
  • Dedicated plant-based cauliflower wings
  • Speciality loaded fries menu
  • Convenient online ordering options

Cons

  • Opens late at 11:00 AM

We ended up with 40 satisfying breaded wings, half boned half no bones

We’re just out for a snack and my daughter suggested wing snob, then we ended up with 40 satisfying breaded wings, half boned half no bones. We requested everything on the side so we tried the wings on it own and the taste is just right, not bland and not salty, I would have eaten it with rice if I could. I wish I can remember the sauces and sides we ordered but they all end up being dips for us & they even gave a dip refill on the dip we ate the most. Thanks for the excellent service.

Freshly cooked, crispy, and the wings had proper meat on them

Tried the wings here for the first time and they were actually really good. Freshly cooked, crispy, and the wings had proper meat on them unlike some places that serve tiny dry wings. Loved that they had so many flavor options too. The fries were super crispy and tasty, just a bit salty for me personally, so next time i would probably ask for less salt.

It is a little pricier compared to other wing places, but you can tell the quality is better. Overall, definitely worth trying if you are craving good wings and fresh food.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, Sunday, 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM | Friday-Saturday, 12:00 PM – 1:00 AM

With over 100 distinct wing flavours, Big Wing’s Calgary offers plenty of choice compared with typical local spots. The restaurant hand-breads their chicken tenders in-house, giving them a fresh, golden crunch.

They also sauce their boneless ribs to order, helping keep every bite fresh and flavourful.

Location-wise, they’re located in the central Beltline, which makes it easy to stop by for a late-night food run.

Another great perk is that you can get half off your second wing order every Wednesday, giving you a chance to save on your next visit.

But keep in mind that the exclusive Pepsi partnership means Coca-Cola products aren’t available. Additionally, the kitchen doesn’t open until noon daily.

Pros

  • Over 100 distinct flavour choices
  • Hand-breaded chicken tenders
  • Central Beltline neighbourhood location
  • Great weekly Wednesday discounts

Cons

  • No Coca-Cola products available
  • Kitchen opens late at noon

The wings themselves are notably large, well-seasoned, and have that perfect crispy exterior

Big Wing’s Calgary is a gem for wing enthusiasts. As soon as you step in, there’s a cozy, inviting atmosphere that just sets the tone for a relaxed meal. They offer a wide range of wing flavors, and each one I’ve tried has been spot on. The wings themselves are notably large, well-seasoned, and have that perfect crispy exterior you hope for, with juicy meat inside. I’m a big fan of their homemade sauces too—they’re the kind of addition that takes good wings to great.

This was a total surprise spot and tasty wings

This was a total surprise spot and tasty wings. We had not dry wings. It was juicy and too much sauce – I guess you needed rice to go with it !! lol. Good people and so many varieties of flavours. It was a good first visit. Will try again. Really a nice place.

However, smaller portion sizes can make it harder to sample different sauces during a quick visit. Baskets of eight or 16 wings also come with just one flavour choice.

To add, completely unbreaded wings cost an extra $3.

Pros

  • Three distinct wing preparation styles
  • Massive party platters available
  • Dedicated menu for young kids
  • Fun extreme spice challenge

Cons

  • Single flavour limit on small orders
  • Extra fee for unbreaded wings

So many wing flavours

So many wing flavours, and they’re sizing flexibility allows you to mix and match flavours. We had Roasted Red Pepper & Garlic, Dill Caesar & Parmesan, and Mesquite & Blue Cheese. Flavors were outstanding and the chicken wings themselves were crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. So good. The service was a little on the slow side as the only staff there was new and working very hard. There was a sports bar vibe with a dash of Top Gun. We will be back for wings most definitely!

So many wings flavours to choose from!

So many wings flavours to choose from! Wings were so good! Love their caesar salad, cajun fries, and the sauce that comes with it (need to know the recipe so bad). Great service and vibes from the place.

It’s a hidden gem on 15th ave

Why isn’t this place packed on a Tuesday? It’s a hidden gem on 15th ave and I hope you come here for the juiciest wings and so darn tasty dry ribs 🤤 at only $5 on Tuesdays! Had the suicide wings and wasn’t expecting them to be super spicy but like the server said, “They sneak up on you 🥵” they were delish and certainly sneaky 😅.

Great experience always, and cozy feeling

Mugs is always solid. Always come here for the food and friendly service. The wings, pizza, sandwiches and nachos are my favorites here. Would recommend to everyone in the neighbourhood to catch the game and eat here. Mostly NFL and NHL here. Very good prices also on liquor! Shout out to Cortney for her beautiful smile and spirit while serving me. Great experience always, and cozy feeling. Happy hour burgers for $8. See my picture.

5. The Hose & Hound Neighbourhood Pub

the-hose-hound-neighbourhood-pub-logo

Website: thehose.ca

Address: 1030 9 Avary

Contact: 403-234-0508 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Friday-Saturday, 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM | Sunday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Setting a truly unique scene, The Hose & Hound operates out of a historic 1906 fire hall in Inglewood. The pub breads and prepares their chicken wings completely in-house, giving them an extra-crispy crust.

That means you can enjoy fresh, locally made comfort food while sitting inside an actual neighbourhood landmark.

The wings pair well with the rotating tap list, which features local craft beers. Plus, regular wing orders come with crisp carrots and celery at no extra charge, making it easy to round out your meal.

However, finding a table during a busy game night can be tricky, especially for smaller groups. And sadly, the pub doesn’t take table reservations for parties of fewer than eight, so couples and smaller groups have to rely on walk-in seating.

Pros

  • Authentic historic firehouse atmosphere
  • Wings breaded completely in-house
  • Included fresh celery and carrots
  • Great local craft beer selection

Cons

  • No reservations for small groups
  • Limited table during game night
