I’ll admit it: I started my Calgary coworking tour thinking I’d just find a decent Wi-Fi connection and maybe some free coffee. 

Little did I know I was about to dive headfirst into a world of vibrant workspaces, where every corner felt like it had been designed to boost creativity and productivity—plus a few perks I definitely didn’t expect.

Launched in 2015 by a group of 10 friends, Work Nicer Coworking has blossomed into a thriving community of over 1,000 members. Joining gives you a membership packed with perks you’d never find at home.

Beyond desks and meeting rooms, you’ll find private phone booths, unlimited free coffee, fully equipped photo and video studios, and mail and package handling. They also have printers, a kitchen, and an on-site gym.

The space itself is a mix of cozy and functional, with various setups to suit whatever vibe you’re after each day. The office is crafted for community connection but also offers plenty of cozy, quiet spots when you need to focus in peace.

And while parking may be on the pricier side, the easy access to the C-Train, Car2Go spots, and member-use bikes more than make up for it.

Pro tip:

The vibe is elegant and chic, with 15 chandeliers, plush velvet couches, sleek white desks, and pops of vibrant artwork by Dade Loft scattered throughout. Some private offices allow businesses to put their own creative stamp on the space. 

Plus, one hallway features a vintage safe, now repurposed as a server room, with “J. & J. Taylor Toronto SafeWorks” still engraved on it. There are also a few small booths perfect for a private phone call
