5 Dog Boarding Facilities in Calgary Where Your Pup Will Have a Great Time
Most pet parents already rely on a trusted daytime play center and vet clinic for regular playdates and checkups. An upcoming trip, though, creates a totally different problem when nobody can watch the dog at home.
Sleepovers require a gentle touch from people who truly understand dog behavior. Shy pups often struggle with separation anxiety, picky food routines, or nightly medication schedules. A stressful weekend in a noisy kennel can set a good dog back by months.
To make things easy for you, I checked out the best spots for dog boarding in Calgary so your fur baby gets treated like family. Let’s look at my top picks!
How much does dog boarding cost in Calgary?
The average cost of dog boarding in Calgary ranges from $43 to $46 per night for standard accommodations, but prices fluctuate up to $120 per night based on the level of care.
| Boarding Type | Price Range (Per Night) |
| Traditional Kennels | $40 – $65 |
| Independent Sitters | $43 – $55 |
| Luxury Pet Resorts | $60 – $120+ |
| All-Inclusive Combo | $70 – $97+ |
1. Muttley Crüe Organics

Website: muttleycrue.ca
Address: 112 620 46 Ave
Contact: 403-262-6888
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Sunday & Holidays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Leaving your dog overnight is way easier when trained workers stay on-site all night long instead of leaving an empty building. Muttley Crüe Organics keeps certified staff on duty through the night to handle bathroom breaks and medicine.
A buddy of mine brought his nervous rescue pup here last month and loved how much attention he got.
The boarding facility also runs on clean green energy and uses eco-friendly shampoos to keep things natural.
Getting started here takes a little bit of planning, though. Every new dog needs a practice trial day plus three daycare visits in a row before you can book an overnight stay.
Also, make sure to keep an eye on the clock when pickup day comes. If you pick your pup up after noon, they’ll charge you for an extra half-day.

Exceptional Care and Great Daily Updates
100% recommend Muttley Crue! Having never used a pet boarding service before in Calgary, we chose Muttley Crüe due to the many positive reviews and also their 24/7 camera. The requirement to do at least 3 daycare boarding days at the start shows how serious they are to ensure your dog is a good fit for the place and that your dog will be familiar with the place by the time they board. The team took great care of our Maverick while we were away and the daily pictures and pupdate reports were a true highlight

Trusted Home for My Senior Rescue
There’s nowhere else I’d trust for my maverick/slightly sassy rescue pup. Muttley crew staff feels like family as they understand my senior dog’s needs, including her pill schedule and picky eating habits. I so appreciate the daily pictures, muttdate reports and being able to check in on the doggy cams. We always feel so welcome and taken care of. And I know my pup gets lots of cuddle time while she’s there too! I bring her there for boarding, daycare and nail trims!

2. Sleep Rover Doggie Hotel & Daycare

Website: sleeprover.ca
Address: 635 36 Avenue
Contact: 403-454-7833 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Some dogs get stressed out in traditional kennels. Sleep Rover fixes that with open-concept social suites where dogs sleep together comfortably, with experienced caregivers on-site around the clock.
The team prepares raw meals and handles supplements without charging extra handling fees. Senior staff also oversee the feeding schedules directly.
Pups also get fresh air in the big outdoor play yard every hour.
That said, getting in is tough for newcomers. They only accept new clients through direct referrals right now. And you can’t book a quick overnight trip if your pup is new; they require five daycare days first.

Wonderful Experience with Detailed Daily Journals
We absolutely love taking our dog to Sleep Rover! She always has the best time, and they post a lot of stories on their social media throughout the day so we can she what she’s up to 🙂 We have used both their daycare and boarding services, and they even write overnight “journals” updating us on who our puppy played with, how much she ate at meal times etc. I cannot recommend Sleep Rover enough!

Fantastic Pool and Activity Facility for Dogs
Love Shogun’s Gym! It’s been a great facility to take my dog, and occasionally her dog friends to for swimming, slat mill runs, and park play! I haven’t used the daycare or boarding facility. The pool area is tidy and well managed, and their staff have been friendly. I love that I can put on the waders and get into the pool to have fun with my dog! And I always leave with a happy and tired dog. Will definitely keep coming to enjoy Shogun’s Gym at Sleep Rover!

3. Squish & Charlie’s Doggy Daycare

Website: squishandcharlie.com
Address: 3644 Manchester Road
Contact: 403-471-1563 | [email protected]
Hours: Available 24/7
Shift workers often struggle to find pet care outside normal business hours. At Squish & Charlie’s, they cover non-traditional schedules with pre-booked pickups and drop-offs around the clock.
A staff member stays on-site overnight too, so every pup feels safe.
They follow your exact home feeding routine and give anxious dogs individual bedtime cuddles to help them settle.
Busy owners can also use their door-to-door pet shuttle, which saves you from fighting rush hour traffic before a trip.
Just make sure to be punctual if you’re planning to use the shuttle. They charge an extra dollar for every minute you’re late past the grace period. Picking up outside normal hours also means a short wait while staff get your dog ready.

Caring First Boarding Experience Over Christmas
First time ever boarding our dog Rumi and over Christmas, no less, so we were nervous. Squish & Charlie’s Dog Day Care was awesome. Super caring, great communication, and Rumi came home happy and tired from all the fun (the good kind of tired). That says everything. We’d 100% trust them again.

Spacious Facility with Trustworthy Overnight Staff
Oakley absolutely loves this place! I can tell because as soon as we got in the truck she whined and I knew she wasn’t happy with me that I picked her up! Once she’s home I’m sure I’ll be forgiven! The odd hours/overnight staff helps a lot! You can text whenever you want and they will send you photos nd updates. The dogs play lots! There’s so much room for them! Our hearts are happy knowing we found a place that we can trust to leave her. To ALL the staff who cared for Oakley, thank you!

4. The Petropolitan

Website: thepetropolitan.ca/service/dog-hotel
Address: #101, 131 9 Ave
Contact: (587) 779-8900 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Many city dogs are used to sleeping in actual bedrooms, not wire crates. The Petropolitan recreates that vibe with private rooms furnished with real human beds and soft lighting.
I suggested this spot to a neighbor recently, and her older golden retriever slept beautifully on the orthopedic bedding.
Every standard stay includes three daily outdoor walks and fresh room linens. They also keep the atmosphere calm with ambient music and climate control.
What’s even better is that the facility welcomes unaltered dogs for overnight stays.
Just keep in mind that bringing an intact dog over nine months old comes with an extra fee for individualized care.
On top of that, first-time guests need to complete a two-night practice stay before booking a busy holiday visit.

Specialized Care for My Anxious Dog
As the owner of an anxious dog who requires specific care, I am so lucky to have found The Petropolitan! Being turned away from many other facilities in the city due to my dog’s exceptional needs was disheartening. But, The Petropolitan has worked with me to create a specialized care plan for my dog during his daycare and boarding stays. The Petropolitan is highly communicative and truly has given me the peace of mind to leave my dog in a space where I know he is being loved and cared for. Thank you staff, you truly are a blessing!!

Safe and Understanding Space for Shy Pets
Both my former dog, Zack (RIP), and current doggo Pablo have had stays at the Petropolitan. The stays have ranged from the base line overnight boarding stays – to the full suite life treatment. Neither pup were/are big fans of other dogs, but the care and safe space at Petropolitan changed that. The staff are so aware and understanding of shy dogs, that when introduced to strangers (dogs), the two pups flourish.

5. Barking Good Pet Services

Website: barkinggood.net
Address: 24129 Old Banff Coach Rd
Contact: (403)-835-2440 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM, 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM | Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Active pups need tons of room to stretch their legs instead of spending the day stuck inside. Barking Good Pet Services has a giant 3-acre yard and big open indoor play areas so your dog can run around as much as they want.
Dogs get to spend most of their time in a watched playgroup to run off energy and make new furry friends.
Plus, the night rate already includes all-day playtime, so you won’t get hit with any sneaky extra fees. Trained workers even run a doggy pool on-site so your pup can go for a safe, splashy swim.
Just keep in mind that they mix all the dogs together into one group instead of separating them by size. If you’ve got a tiny dog, you might feel a bit nervous watching them run around next to huge pups.
Plus, you’ll have to leave their favorite toys at home so dogs don’t fight over them. This can be tough if your pup loves having their favorite blanket or chew toy nearby!

Incredible Team for Long-Term Social Development
We have been bringing our pup to Barking good since he was a 6 month old trouble maker, and wouldn’t take him anywhere else. Crystal and her whole team are so incredibly wonderful. Kavik loves going and is always so excited as we make our way down the driveway. They have helped him develop into a wonderful adult dog and I know we owe a lot of his doggy social skills to the experiences he has at Barking Good.

Welcoming Staff and Highly Recommended Service
Just amazing. When we moved here from Ontario I was searching high and low for daycare/boarding for our dog. Crystal was so welcoming and knowledgable during our visit. During our visit she recognized possible issues I concerned about.
Our drop off and pick us is always greeted by friendly staff, regardless of time day. Our pup comes back happy and tired. Would absolutly recommend.
Thank you to Crystal and all the wonderful staff there.
