WinSport Canada Olympic Park is where the 1988 Winter Olympics took place, so you know it’s got some serious winter sports cred. They have ski runs for everyone, whether you’re just starting or shredding like a pro.

One of my favorite spots there is Canada’s largest tube park. Just imagine yourself sliding down those slopes in an inflatable tube. There’s even a bobsleigh track if you’re feeling adventurous. It’s perfect for anyone looking for Olympic-level winter excitement.

The park is nestled on the western edge of Calgary, and it’s got two high-speed chairlifts, which cuts down on the waiting. You can experience over 1,000 feet of vertical drop, and they even have a world-class halfpipe if you’re into snowboarding.

Pro tip:

After a day of zipping down those snowy hills, there’s this large day lodge where you can warm up and grab some food. There’s something about sitting there, reliving the day’s adventures over hot cocoa or a hearty meal.

It’s one of the few refrigerated rinks in the city, so even if it’s warm outside, you can still expect to glide over smooth ice. Here’s the best part: skating is completely free! You can try to master that pirouette or enjoy a casual skate with friends.

When the winter season rolls around, Olympic Plaza transforms into something magical. Picture twinkling lights overhead while families and friends gather, sharing hot cocoa from nearby vendors. It’s the perfect place to embrace that warm winter spirit.

It can accommodate 19,289 hockey game fans, creating an incredible atmosphere. I’ve seen everything from concerts to national championships there, and every event feels special right in the heart of Stampede Park.
