Some time ago, one of my friends started a business out of her home. It actually ended up doing pretty well until she had to expand.

Once she started considering hiring an employee, she realized that she needed an actual dedicated working space for her brand. Unfortunately, she wasn’t at a point where she could rent out an entire office.

She approached me with her problem, and I quickly realized that the most cost-effective solution was a virtual office. I immediately researched the most reputable ones in the area and came up with a few.

In case any of you are also in need of a space for your business, we’ve got you covered. This guide has all of the best virtual offices in Calgary.

How much do virtual offices cost in Calgary?

Virtual offices in Calgary typically charge around $50 to $300 per month.

This rate mostly depends on the location and services included in your virtual office package.

Regus is a well-known virtual office provider, with over 4,000 locations worldwide. This alone is a huge advantage for their clients, who can easily change their business address to any of these locations.

The one they have in Calgary is pretty nice, considering it’s situated in a commercial hub. It comes with pleasant views, an outdoor patio, an on-site coffee bar, and wheelchair-friendly facilities.

It has to be mentioned, though, that this office does have very limited parking. It’s something you’ll have to keep in mind, especially if you plan to have in-person meetings with employees.

Still, their virtual office package does make up for it. It includes a business address, a virtual receptionist, mail handling, telephone answering services, and bookable office spaces.

We also think it’s great that their plans are quite flexible. You can purchase these virtual office agreements on a short or long-term basis, depending on what your business needs.

Cons

  • Very limited on-site parking

Really professional

“Great Building, awesome center and the views are pretty decent as well. I’ve used Regus on and off during the tax season in various areas but the Calgary area team seems to be really professional. Had a tour with the area manager Shoaib; very informative, to the point and covered all of the main terms and conditions. Would recommend this place and Regus to anyone looking for a short term office solution.”

Their staff is a huge plus as well. We found their customer service delightful, with friendly receptionists who’ll leave a smile on your face.

But before you even sign a contract with them, they’ll schedule an insightful consultation first. With the help of their experts, you can determine what kind of plan works best for your business.

Most people either go for their basics or premium package, which includes a business address, mail reception, and a message-taking service for the latter. However, you can easily tweak your plan by talking to one of their agents.

The only drawback of choosing them is that they get busy on certain days. So if you plan on having an on-site meeting, it could potentially be a bit noisy.

Cons

Always does what they can to cater to our needs

“Accelerant Methods moved into the Calgary Business Centre just over a year ago, and we are extremely satisfied. The building itself has great access to both the downtown core as well as main Calgary connecting roads…Jordan and his team always do what they can to cater to our (and the other tenants) needs and they go the extra mile to keep up good relations…check it out!”

A great place to run a business out of

“Good space and great prices for what it is. Jordan is super helpful in making adjustments to leasing and getting you and what your business needs to succeed. Stef at the front desks is awesome. Many clients have said how lovely she is to interact with. It’s a great location, and even though there is no guest parking, it’s surrounded with lots of street parking parking visitors. All above considered, it’s a great place to run a business out of.”

Most would probably recognize WeWork as one of the most famous coworking spaces globally. However, not as many know that they also offer virtual office services.

They’ll provide you with a business address and mail or package handling services. You can also easily book any of their dedicated desks, meeting rooms, or event spaces.

There’s so much we could say when it comes to their on-site facilities. Besides being a well-decorated space, they’ve got fast wifi, unlimited free coffee, and a great working atmosphere that truly boosts productivity.

Another reason why we chose them is for their unique networking events. They hold these events regularly, and it helps their customers meet potential partners or clients.

Sadly, their reputation does come with a downside. Since they’re popular and have premium facilities, their services are quite pricey compared to other virtual offices out there.

Pros

  • Well-known company globally
  • Provides useful virtual office services
  • Impressive on-site facilities
  • Great amenities
  • Unique networking events

Cons

  • Pricey services

Workhaus is located right in the heart of Downtown Calgary. Not only will you have great views of the city, but your office space will also be easily accessible if you have any meetings.

Their customer support is also excellent. They’re very hands-on and will help you solve any issue, whether it’s with your plan or with their facilities.

And despite it being an unconventional perk, so many customers have praised their included gym amenities. It’s a great way for employees to keep that much-needed work-life balance.

Although their basic virtual office package (professional address and mail handling) is priced fairly, we find their additional services somewhat expensive. This can be a bit disappointing for those whose businesses require extra services like receptionists.

Thankfully, their virtual office plans are pretty flexible. You can get month-to-month agreements, which are especially convenient for those whose brands are just starting out.

Pros

  • Located in Downtown Calgary
  • Easily accessible location
  • Excellent customer support
  • Included gym amenities
  • Flexible virtual office plans

Cons

  • Expensive additional services

Outstanding place to work

“Outstanding place to work. Very nice vibes from everyone in this space. Also, the gym in this building is amazing (basically like having a private Good Life at work!). Would recommend and thank you to Ryan for helping us find an office.”

-John Lee, Google Review

A cost-efficient space for companies to get started

“I personally love this place because while there are a few co-working spaces offering a cost efficient way for companies to get started, a) people ACTUALLY get work done here and b) the space is beautiful/great looking place to bring professional clients. The companies and people here are professionals and come to work, but at the same time are super friendly and I would say you will end up meeting people. Also has good pricing considering the location, space, and gym that is included.”

  • Well-maintained office spaces
  • Has plenty of attractive and useful freebies
  • Approachable front desk

Cons

A 5 out of 5 office space

“I have been a member at the Stratus Office Space for over two years. The office space is modern, clean and has good equipment, such as printer and scanner and good sundries, such as coffee, tea, sugar and good cream. In close proximity are restaurants, etc. It is good value for the money. They always seem to hire good efficient representatives that are at the front desk and always helpful in assisting the members.. To quantify, I would give it a 5 out of 5.”

-Murray Meakin, Google Review

Reasonable rent and pleasant environment

“The rent is very reasonable, the environment is pleasant and the staff and other tenants are friendly. Other business centres charge hourly for meeting room space and charge extra for things like photocopying/printing. I also like that there is free two hour parking a block away so that my clients don’t have to pay for parking.”
