These 5 dog daycare centres in Calgary had my pup doing zoomies!
Before I worked remotely, I had a regular, 9-to-5 office job. And as I was living alone with my dog, it was always a challenge in the morning. He’d stare at me with those big, sad, soulful eyes—major guilt overload!
And though my pup was well-trained and had plenty of toys, I still set up a pet cam with two-way audio, treat dispensers, and motion detection—everything I could think of! But whenever I came home, he still seemed down, making me feel this wasn’t enough.
That’s when I decided to hunt down the best dog daycare centres in Calgary. There are tons of options, for sure, but my standards are sky-high. I mean, my pup is kind of sensitive as it is. Below are the best ones I’ve tried and reviewed so far.
How much do dog daycare centres charge in Calgary?
Dog daycare centres in Calgary can charge anywhere between CAD 35 and CAD 50 per day, depending on the duration, amenities, and size and breed of your pet.
Other factors include bulk packages and extra services.
1. Muttley Crue Organics

Address: 620 46 Ave NE
Contact Details: +1 403 262 6888, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 6:30 AM to 7 PM, Saturday to Sunday – 9 AM to 5 PM
Muttley Crue Organics is a Calgary dog daycare centre that boasts among the highest staff-to-dog ratios in the city! It also offers grooming and boarding services for your convenience.
Plus, I appreciate that it has a well-screened open-concept play area. This is separated by size with a fully turfed and fenced-in yard space for everyone’s safety.
On top of that, the staff uses a positive, hands-free approach to correcting dog behaviour, so I believe your pups would be unharmed—even if they get a bit naughty! The folks here also go on regular seminars and staff training to hone their skills.
I love that they also take care of the furry animals all night, every night to give owners peace of mind. If that doesn’t convince you, it’s handy for me that there are several web cameras around too!
Another thing I find commendable is that this place is environmentally friendly and sustainable. It composts dog hair and leftover dog food to reduce waste!
However, this pet care hub has a unique rule: don’t drop off your pets after 12 pm. This means clients with later schedules won’t be able to use its daycare services.
According to the staff, introducing new dogs into a group in the afternoon creates a clash in energy levels, becoming a trigger for dog fights. So if you want to explore their services, it’s best to arrive as early as you can.
So Kind and Patient
“Took my dog in for a trial day of daycare and they were so kind and patient! Lots of photos and an update at the end of her day. They take the time to make sure your dog is comfortable and give them lots of attention. My dog was anxious going in and I can tell just from the photo updates that she was more comfortable by the end of it. Will be bringing my pup back!”

Diligent with Updates and Reports
“We brought our puppy to Muttley Crue for daycare and we had an amazing experience! The staff were so friendly and really cared about giving our puppy a good day. The pictures, webcam and daycare reports were a great touch and let us know our pup was taken care of. We’ll definitely be going back to Muttley Crue for daycare and boarding in the future!”

2. Paws Next Door

Address: 4116 Macleod Trail SE
Contact Details: +1 587 436 2044, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 6 AM to 11 AM, 1 PM to 6 PM, Saturday to Sunday – Closed
Paws Next Door is a doggy daycare for mainly southeast Calgary clients. I think it’s great that it splits the dogs into different playrooms based on temperament, size, and energy levels. For me, this ensures everyone the best experience.
Not only that, but I also like that there’s a quiet area where dogs can take a break from the playrooms. This is where overwhelmed pups can take a breather or just get used to the daycare vibe with less stimulation.
Overall, the dog care centre specializes in a reward-driven approach, so I feel the staff would not be harsh to your canine friend. It’s kernel-free too (unless you request otherwise)!
If interested, I suggest getting the complimentary evaluation day to be sure it’s the right fit for your pooch. Just fill out the registration form online so the staff can make the arrangements.
Nevertheless, the staff can be a tad unresponsive at times. I recommend reaching out through their socials or other means or waiting for an hour or 2. Otherwise, you may look for other options on this list.
Great Attention to Detail
“We take our rambunctious puppy, Gracie, here occasionally for daycare and the staff are always so great! They take the best care of her, always checking her over for unusual bumps and scratches – really appreciate their attention to her overall wellbeing. And of course, this wild child has the most fun every time she’s there! Haha!”

Well-Organized & Knowledgeable
“Our dog Luke loves Paws Next door whenever we pull up to the building he gets super excited. They are very well organized with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a doggy day care.”

3. SODOG

Address: 620 10 Ave SW Unit 110
Contact Details: +1 587 572 9595
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 7 AM to 7 PM, Saturday to Sunday – Closed
SODOG is a high-end pup daycare facility in Calgary with various opinions for each type of dog. The furry companions will be grouped based on size and temperament to ensure their safety.
If your dog loves to play and run around a lot, I feel you’ll be at ease with the LongHorn specialized animal flooring. This absorbs impact on joints, helping to prevent injury with additional comfort.
Of course, not every pet has the same energy, so I like that there’s a chill-out area for slower, more mature dogs.
I also appreciate that each playroom is equipped with a functional, artificial grass relief station to keep the animals clean and toilet-trained.
All the staff are required to complete online training with The Dog Gurus too! This is a team of pet care pros who run multi-million dollar facilities and specialize in helping pet care businesses succeed.
Should you be interested, SODOG offers 50% off on your first trial visit. And if you have a registered service dog, I say make the most of the 10% discount on daycare services.
Nonetheless, this centre only offers dog daycare services to focus on what it does best. Still, I think this might be inconvenient if you want grooming services done in the same place.
My Dog Approves
“Love love love this local doggy daycare. Mimi, the owner, is so sweet with my dog and I can really see that she loves all of the doggos that go to SODOG. My dog adores going to daycare here and I can see him playing with other pups on the Instagram stories. My dog also has a history of being difficult and fearful with nail trims, but Mimi is super patient and is really willing to help me. Thank you SODOG for being a great place that I can trust will take amazing care of my pup.”

Genuine Care, Attention, and Love
“We are so grateful to have found Mimi & the team at SoDog. It’s become so much more than an amazing facility & daycare for our puppy, Ruby. Because of the genuine care, attention and love they have for all the pups there, it truly has become her second home (we even think of Mimi as her third mom! lol)”

4. Laurie B’s Doggie Daycare

Address: 4924 Fourier Dr SE
Contact Details: +1 403 829 0366, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 7 AM to 6 PM
Laurie B’s Doggie Daycare is one of my top picks that specializes in small and older dogs in the city.
And if you’re going to schedule for daycare more than 3 days a week, I find it handy that you’ll pay CAD 5 less for the first and second dog you bring!
The centre offers overnight care as well. Your pup can enjoy a fun sleepover with the other dogs under the supervision of the daycare owner, herself! Do note that your dog must be picked by by 12 pm the next day so won’t have to pay extra.
Other than that, I adore the private walk services to spoil your pup one-on-one! This involves a neighbourhood walk with leash behavioural coaching for an hour or 30-minute stroll.
But since this place only accepts smaller dogs, the only drawback for me is that medium- or large-sized furry friends probably have to be taken somewhere else.
Amazing Services
“Laurie is amazing. This was my dogs first daycare since we rescued her in January 2021 and our dog wasn’t completely socialized. . My dog obviously had a great time and felt safe and comfortable with Laurie and her dog as she continued to play with Laurie and run to Laurie for pets n love even after we got there to pick her up about 4 hours in daycare. Thanks Laurie. You are amazing.”
-Ms. Sue Lalonde, Google Review
Very Trustworthy
“Laure dog sits all my dogs. She is also a foster for CB Rescue Foundation for the last 5 years. Her love for the dogs is evident, she is caring and I trust her 100% with any dog we bring to her. Dogs love Laurie! I have only 2-3 people I trust with my dogs, and she is one of those people. I highly recommend Laurie!”

5. Barking Good Pet Services

Address: 24129 Old Banff Coach Rd
Contact Details: +1 403 835 2440, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Saturday to Sunday – 9 AM to 12 PM, 1:30 PM to 5 PM
Barking Good Pet Services is an exclusive facility that offers overnight and daycare services. I appreciate that the owner has a lifetime’s worth of experience in taking care of dogs, so all breeds are welcome here.
Also, I’m in awe of the big space where the pups can run free and play. Whether you have an indoor or outdoor dog, they can play inside the 1,200-square-foot facility or zoom around the 3-acre yard!
This pet care hub lets the dogs hang out for 8 to 12 hours a day as well. In my view, this can encourage them to embrace the pack mentality—they can socialize, exercise, and practice good behaviour together.
If you decide to get long-term services, you can enjoy some discounts too! You’ll get 10% off for 10 to 29 nights or 15% off for over 30 nights of daycare.
Yet, a downside for me is when this business gets fully booked, it doesn’t take new clients and focuses on its current ones for a while.
So in my opinion, it’s smart to give the staff a quick call before visiting in person. Otherwise, you can join their waitlist or select another option here.
No One Else I Would Trust
“I’ve been bringing my dog Moose to barking good since he was around a year old I believe (he is now 5). He is a German Shepherd cross and very high maintenance/high energy and had some challenges with aggression. I remember the very first day I brought him for a meet and greet and he started to get aggressive with a dog and they completely de escalated the situation right in front of me. Immediately felt trusting he was in good hands. Moose is always happy to go to daycare and always tired when he comes home. I’ve boarded him as well and they’ve done great with letting me know how it went when I pick him up. There is no one else I would trust with him!”

Amazing Facility
“Cannot give enough praise to Crystal and her team. My dog always comes back tired from a full day of play and socializing. This is not your traditional kennel day care. The dogs have outdoor & indoor access all day long! They get to spend the day playing, and being dogs. There are beds/cots for the dogs to nap during the day if they get tired. Amazing facility we have taken our dog to since she was a puppy.”
